The Keowee Fire Department serves and protects the area between The City of Seneca, The City of Salem, and the Ebenezer Fire District. We are located on the shores of beautiful Lake Keowee at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our coverage area consist of 30 square miles and a population of approximately 6000 people. During the summer months our population increases considerably with the influx of seasonal visitors using rental and vacation homes.
We operate out of 2 stations that protect primarily residential communities, many of which are gated or security controlled. We also protect a 3 reactor nuclear power facility operated by Duke Energy, and numerous other smaller businesses.
Our District is staffed with five full-time employees which man the station 24 hours a day, along with twelve-part time employees and 12 dedicated volunteers. The department is governed by a five member commission elected by the communities in which we serve. The Fire District prides itself on customer service, and loyalty to the residents, businesses and visitors to our community. We work daily to enhance our abilities and provide the highest level of service possible.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our District. if you live in the area, please stop by and meet your fire professionals and enjoy the fire house hospitality.
